Cinnamon Glazed Ham
ED: Definitely one of my favourite dinner party dishes! Its so simple to make and looks absolutely stunning.This sexy baby is bound to set tongues wagging and lickin’. (;
2 kg Ham
- 1 1/2 cups Wine
- 4 tbs Honey
- 2 Cinnamon stick
- 5 Cloves
- 1 Bayleaf
- 3 Shallots
- I start of by reducing 1 1/2 cups of red wine,a hand full of shallots, 5 cloves, 2 cinnamon stick and bay leaf over low heat.
- Once the wine has been reduce by about half and the alcohol has been cooked off, i add about 4 table spoons of honey(or add till your desired sweetness) and further reduce the glaze till it thickens a little.
- While reducing the glaze, score the ham diagonally about 2 cm deep and create a diagonal checked pattern about 1 inch per square. Stick the cloves into the center of every alternate square. Glaze the ham with the cinnamon glaze using a brush coating every bit of the ham.
- Bake in the oven for 7 minutes at 160 Degree Celsius till the scores of the ham separate. Glaze once more and serve with remaining glaze as a sauce.
